The Walled Garden

Our walled gardens are endlessly romantic with abundant greenery, secluded areas, winding pathways and immaculate lawns – perfect for couples portraits that feel intimate and somehow separate from the rest of the world.

If you choose to celebrate with welcome drinks in the gardens, your photographer is also likely to capture a number of reportage-style shots of your guests mingling in the sunshine. Just glorious.

While a spring or summer wedding is most likely to deliver a sunny day, the gardens have much to offer throughout the year. The ornate iron gates that welcome you into the garden are another unique and fabulous feature, perfect for dramatic garden-inspired wedding photography.

The Ceremony Aisle

Whether you marry inside or out, be sure to capture the sometimes forgotten moment when you walk back up the aisle, hand in hand, as a married couple.

In the walled garden, you’ll have a beautiful view of the wedding pergola in the background. If you choose to wed in our on-site parish church, the stained-glass windows make a dramatically beautiful backdrop, whilst the Orangery boasts its own glorious windows with views of the gardens beyond.

The Sweeping Driveway

The impressive driveway at Braxted Park is calling out for photographs, from group shots to romantic images of the two of you hand in hand. The exterior of Braxted Park is also the perfect place for that after-dark ‘sparkler moment’.

The Fountain

Our water feature makes a fabulous feature to pose alongside. Ask your photographer to get creative with different depths and angles.

The Magnificent Doorways

There’s nothing we love more than a photograph of a couple taken from inside the house, looking out of the impressive doorway with the driveway in the background. But, of course, this is also a photograph that works wonderfully no matter what the weather. Braxted Park boasts a number of imposing doorways and other original features, from windows to fireplaces.

The Indoor Spaces

Every room at Braxted Park provides a beautiful backdrop for your photographs, from the light-filled elegant Ballroom with its lavish windows, stylish panelling and crystal chandeliers to the light-filled Pavilion.

The magnificent Georgian house can also be made available for photographs. And don’t forget that fabulous chequerboard dance floor – just the place for some celebratory photos when the evening reception is in full swing.

Top Photography Tips

• Create a photo list. Of course, your photographer will know exactly what to photograph to capture your big day, but it still helps to share a must-have list of photographs you absolutely want captured to ensure nothing is missed.

• Discuss possible locations with your photographer beforehand, making sure they know which areas you would like to have photographs taken in on the day.

• Have an ‘all weather’ plan, choosing great backdrops both inside and out.

• If you have your heart set on garden shots, invest in a few beautiful umbrellas. Then, if it’s raining, you’ll still manage to capture romantic photographs, and you’ll have some excellent props!

• Allocate time for your photographer to take plenty of couple portraits. As well as getting some lovely photographs, you’ll enjoy a short amount of time ‘just the two of you’.
