7 Entertainment Ideas for your Evening Wedding Reception
Inspiration - 30.10.18
From live bands and magicians to treasure hunts and theatrical food stations, we hope these wedding entertainment ideas will inspire you when it comes to planning your evening celebration at Braxted Park.
1. Musical Delights
Music is the most obvious form of wedding entertainment, whether you decide to have a DJ or a live band for your evening party. You might even delight your guests during the wedding breakfast with some singing waiters! Whatever you choose, consider your guests and fill the dance floor by finding something you think most people will enjoy. If you’re planning a live band, choose a group that will suit the size of your wedding – you don’t want to overpower the occasion.
Entertaining your guests doesn’t have to be expensive, especially if you get creative with your wedding ideas. A series of Mr and Mrs questions are sure to get the party started! On the dance floor, you might decide to perform a rehearsed first dance and end the night with a ‘dance off’ (boys versus girls of course!).
3. Theatrical Food
Your evening menu can certainly be considered part of your entertainment. Delight your guests with street food or an amazing barbecue… and perhaps some signature cocktails or a gin bar.
If you’re marrying in the summer months, make the most of the beautiful gardens at Braxted Park. Traditional garden games are often a great success, from croquet to skittles and perhaps even a coconut shy. Be sure to include any younger guests with a fun treasure hunt.
Capture memories and make your guests smile with a photo booth. Whether you choose a traditional photobooth, a simple photo booth frame or a selfie mirror, be sure to provide plenty of props!
We all love a close-up magician – a great way to entertain your guests that requires very little organisation by you! For something a little different, how about a palm reader or silhouette artist?
7. For the Children
Don’t forget your younger guests! Treasure hunts are always a success, but you might also consider a crèche service, a quiz, scavenger hunt or even dance lessons. Happy children equal happy parents!
