Top Romantic Wedding Photos in Braxted Park

Wedding Planning - 09.04.19

You’ll treasure your wedding photographs for years to come, cherishing memories of your special day. With that in mind, we hope these suggestions of ‘must have backdrops’ for your Braxted Park wedding will offer a little inspiration when planning your photo list.

The Walled Garden

Our walled gardens are endlessly romantic and simply idyllic when it comes to your couple portraits, with cosy corners and natural beauty at every turn. While a spring or summer wedding is most likely to offer a sunny day, the gardens have much to offer throughout the year.

If you celebrate with welcome drinks in the great outdoors, your photographer is also likely to capture a number of reportage style shots of your guests. Of course, the ornate iron gates are another fabulous feature, welcoming you in to the garden itself.

The Ceremony Aisle

Whether you marry inside or out, be sure to capture that magical moment when you walk back up the aisle as a married couple. In the walled garden, you’ll see the wedding pergola in the background and, in our on-site parish church, the stained-glass windows make a dramatically beautiful backdrop. Meanwhile, the Orangery boasts its glorious windows with the gardens beyond.

The Sweeping Driveway

The impressive driveway is just calling out for photographs, from group shots to romantic images of the two of you hand in hand. The exterior of Braxted Park is also the perfect place for that after dark ‘sparkler moment’.

The Fountain

Our water feature makes a fabulous feature, get your photographer to try different depths and angles.

The Magnificent Doorways

There’s nothing we love more than a photograph of a couple taken from inside the house, looking out of the impressive doorway with the driveway in the background. Of course, this is also a photograph that works wonderfully no matter what the weather. Braxted Park boasts a number of imposing doorways and other original features from windows to fireplaces.

The Indoor Spaces

Every room at Braxted Park provides a beautiful backdrop for your photographs, from the elegant Ballroom with its stylish panelling and crystal chandeliers, to the light-filled Pavilion. The magnificent Georgian house can also be made available for photographs. And, don’t forget that fabulous chequerboard dance floor – just the place for some celebratory photos when the evening reception is in full swing.

Top Photography Tips

– Discuss possible locations with your photographer beforehand, making sure they know what you would like on the day.

– Have an ‘all weather’ plan, choosing great backdrops both inside and out.

– If you have your heart set on garden shots, invest in a few beautiful umbrellas. If it’s raining, you’ll still manage to capture romantic photographs and you’ll have some excellent props!

– Allocate time for your photographer to take plenty of couple portraits. As well as getting some lovely photographs, you’ll enjoy a short amount of time ‘just the two of you’.
