Rachelle and Adrian’s Music-Filled Spring Wedding

Weddings - 02.05.18

Rachelle and Adrian wanted to find a beautiful Essex wedding venue where they could dine, celebrate and spend the night following their religious church ceremony. As soon as they saw Braxted Park, they knew it was the one!

“The walled gardens are stunning, the pavilion was the perfect size, there was accommodation on site for our family… and All Saints Church was a stone’s throw away. It had everything we were looking for.”

Adrian and his family are from Scotland, so a hint of Scottish style was carried through the day, from Adrian’s tartan waistcoat to thistles in the flowers and a Scottish reading in church.

Lilac-grey and lavender were the two main colour choices and proved to work beautifully as a shade for the bridesmaid dresses. Aside from colour, the focus of this romantic wedding was music, a passion of both Rachelle and Adrian’s.

“Each piece of music played throughout the day held a special meaning, from the bagpiper to the first dance and the band. Our table plan featured our favourite albums and our invitations and place names reflected a musical theme.”

Rachelle tried on around 50 dresses until she found that perfect gown! Returning to Bodice and Bustle in Bishops Stortford, she tried an Essence of Australia gown from their new collection.

The beautiful bride accessorised with diamond earrings, a Swarovski bracelet and hair piece.

“The moment I stepped out of the changing room, I could see in my mum and sister’s faces that this dress was different to all the rest. When I looked in the mirror, I felt the same.”

Following their church ceremony, the newlyweds returned to Braxted Park for a drinks reception in the Walled Garden before moving in to dine.

As day turned to evening, a delicious evening buffet was accompanied by scrumptious wedding cake.

The Hot Shots band played live sets throughout the evening, filling the dancefloor for the finale of this magnificent day.

While it’s always hard to pick one favourite moment, there is certainly one that particularly tugs on Rachelle’s heart strings.

“The feeling of walking up the aisle in the church arm-in-arm with my Dad towards Adrian was incredibly special and I will never forget it.”

The stand-out moments for Rachelle and Adrian were the speeches and the incredible band. All three speeches were excellent and had guests laughing, crying and waving their napkins in the air!

It’s always lovely not to have to leave at the end of your day. At Braxted Park we’re delighted to offer luxurious accommodation for you and your closest friends and family. To see what we have to offer, visit our Accommodation page.
