Katie and Rob’s Sophisticated Springtime Wedding

Weddings - 28.03.18

With pretty flowers, a delicate colour scheme and a wonderful atmosphere, this romantic April wedding embraced the beauty of Braxted Park.

With their hearts set on a beautiful wedding filled with flowers and live music, Katie and Rob knew Braxted Park was the Essex wedding venue for them. On their first visit, they felt that ‘wow’ factor as they arrived, falling in love with the beautiful grounds.

The happy couple wanted their wedding to look sophisticated, pretty and classic, the perfect complement to their personalities and to Braxted Park. Pastel pink was chosen as the main colour with this beautiful spring shade introduced predominantly through fabulous flowers.

For their ceremony in the Orangery, Katie and Rob decorated the aisle chairs with silk hydrangeas, carrying the floral theme through to the registry table with an arrangement of Sweet Avalanche roses, white roses, gypsophila, hydrangea and eucalyptus.

The same glorious blooms were featured in the table centrepieces in the Pavilion, alongside floral table names and a scattering of pink rose petals. Finally, the Pavilion was decorated with white swags and glass chandeliers.

Katie’s stunning Stewart Parvin gown was from Bespoke Wardrobe in Ingatestone. Accessorising with ‘something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue and a silver sixpence in her shoe’, Katie borrowed diamond earrings and a bracelet from her mother and grandmother and wore a pair of new, blue shoes. For ‘something old’ she wore her late grandmother’s wedding ring and, when her father saw her for the first time in her dress, he gave his beautiful daughter a silver sixpence.

“I love the lace detail on my dress and the way it hangs, with a small train at the back.”

Rob wore a three-piece suit in navy blue with a grey waistcoat and pastel pink tie. In keeping with the pink theme, Katie’s maid of honour and bridesmaid wore pale pink dresses from Kelsey Rose.

After saying their marriage vows in the Orangery, the newlyweds enjoyed a drinks reception in the Walled Garden, accompanied by a string quartet. Delicious canapés accompanied Prosecco and Pimm’s before the guests moved into dine.

“We had a receiving line to meet and greet our guests. It was a lovely way to have a quick catch up with friends and family before sitting down for the wedding breakfast.”

The Pavilion provided a wonderfully elegant setting for this stylish wedding, as guests enjoyed a delicious wedding breakfast created by Acclaim Catering.

As day turned to evening, Katie and Rob took to the floor for their first dance to ‘I Love You Always Forever’ by Donna Lewis. The music continued with live band ‘Motown Gold’ who really got everyone on their feet. The string quartet and the live band played a huge part in the couple’s day and helped set the atmosphere. The daytime was sophisticated and calm and the evening was a celebration with lots of dancing.

After cutting the three-tiered cake adorned with pink sugar roses, it was served alongside an evening buffet. With just a few steps to the luxurious honeymoon accommodation, Katie and Rob spent the night at Braxted Park before their idyllic escape to the Maldives.

“It was such an amazing and special day, I can’t pick just one favourite moment! We were both so lucky to have the help of our parents when organising our wedding and the team at Braxted were very helpful, friendly and welcoming.”
