Camellia and Philip’s Springtime Wedding

Weddings - 25.06.19

With an elegant colour scheme, fabulous menu and wonderful blend of cultural traditions, the March wedding of Camellia and Philip was the ultimate in romance.

The Venue

Planning their spring wedding, Camellia and Philip were searching for a beautiful wedding venue in Essex where they could celebrate with both a civil ceremony and traditional Iranian ceremony. Braxted Park was just the place.

“We fell in love with the ballroom in the house and decided we had to have our wedding breakfast there.”

Setting a March wedding date, the happy couple chose a simple, elegant theme with subtle Disney touches. Green was the key wedding colour, a subtle hue to welcome spring, and The Wedding Lounge supplied the decorations.

Camellia decided she would like a fishtail dress with sleeves and found the perfect gown by Essence of Australia at The Wedding Shop in Colchester. “I added a belt for some extra sparkle and wore Jimmy Choo shoes.”

Meanwhile, Philip looked the part in a three-piece navy suit during the day, changing into black tie for the evening.

Finally, Camellia’s bridesmaids were stunning in leaf green dresses from Matchmaker in Brentwood.

Following their romantic ceremony in the Orangery, mojito’s, Bucks Fizz and Prosecco were served as part of the welcome reception while a string quartet played well-known songs from Disney.

The wedding breakfast commenced with a delicious starter of citrus cured salmon, moving on to roast rump of lamb and a decadent trio of desserts including chocolate mousse with brownie crumble. “I have a sweet tooth, so dessert was my favourite bit!”

As the sun went down, Camellia and Philip took to the dance floor for their first dance to an Iranian song called ‘Kavir’ by Shahram Solati. “We had a live Iranian band which got everyone up on the dancefloor!”

An Iranian buffet proved the perfect choice for this cultural celebration and a fabulous finale to such a special day.

“The speeches. My dad nailed it!”

“The events team were amazing. Writing this is genuinely making me feel so emotional – I’m so grateful to both Victoria and Janet for ensuring the day went as smoothly as it did.”

If you loved this wedding, we think you’ll also be inspired by the spring wedding of Rachelle and Adrian.
