Brooke & Bradley’s Picture-Perfect Spring Wedding

Weddings - 05.02.20

With the prettiest of colour schemes, stunning décor, fabulous food and live music, the spring wedding of Brooke and Bradley was set to delight.

The Venue

Dreaming of an idyllic spring wedding with a pastel colour scheme and cherry blossom, Brooke and Bradley were on the hunt for their perfect venue. When they visited Braxted Park, they knew they had found ‘the one’.

“The long driveway up to the house could have featured in a fairy tale, the Orangery was gorgeous and the main house and grounds were beautiful. It was the most picture perfect venue.”

The happy couple set an April wedding date and started to plan, choosing shades of pink and incorporating silver and gold, alongside cherry blossom trees.

For their ceremony in the Orangery, an ivory aisle runner was lined with silver hurricane lanterns and scattered with petals. A blossom tree canopy in blush pink by Olivia’s Roses Florist was a stunning addition.

In the Pavilion, miniature blossom trees with delicate glass hanging baubles sat on each table, surrounded by candles while the bride and her bridesmaids placed their bouquets in vases on the top table.

“We also hung fabric drapes across the ceiling, which had fairy lights inside, as well as chandeliers. During the speeches and dinner we had white lights on. In the evening the lights turned to a subtle pink to match our colour scheme.”

Fabulous flowers were arranged to boast that ‘just picked’ look, bringing the outside in. A spectacular combination of roses alongside astilbe, achelia and hydrangea in shades of pinks and white were simply beautiful.

The bride wore a Justin Alexander gown from Fleur de Lys Bridal in Saffron Waldon, having seen it initially online.

“I loved that it had a gorgeous nude lining under the ivory lace, giving it an almost blush colour. It was slim fitting with the most beautiful train, along with the illusion straps. I asked my seamstress to add some subtle pearls and sequins to the dress which I think finished it off perfectly.”

Brooke accessorised with a chapel length veil, delicate jewellery and Jenny Packham bridal shoes from LK Bennett. Meanwhile, Bradley dressed in black tie from Marks and Spencer, completing his elegant look with personalised cufflinks.

Finally, Brooke’s bridesmaids were beautiful in ‘Blaze’ dresses from Jarlo London with clutch bags from Pretty Little Thing and jewellery sets from Debenhams.

Following their romantic ceremony in the Orangery at Braxted Park, a drinks reception was held in the main house.

Moving into the Pavilion to dine, the wedding breakfast commenced with a goat’s cheese salad, with rack of lamb for the main course and, for pudding, a delicious trio of sticky toffee pudding, caramel cheesecake and Bramley apple crumble.

“We chose our menu based around a meal we’d had at a restaurant in Marbella when Bradley proposed. As for the dessert… if you can’t have all three on your own wedding day, when can you!”

As the sun went down, the newlyweds danced their first dance to ‘Suddenly’ by Billy Ocean and live band, Soul that Swings, got everyone up and dancing.

“The main vocalist was extremely talented. We have had so many people ask us about the band.”

A burger and hog roast station proved a popular choice for evening dining – the perfect finale to this most magnificent day.

“It was lovely walking down the aisle and catching Brad’s face as I walked towards him. Bradley’s speech was unforgettable and, of course the first dance!”
